Oh - I don't know JK - there was a certain something about Mr Firth's rendition of "Our Last Summer".  Most alarmingly found myself humming along to it after the show ! Wasn't his character called Darcy - they usually are - he was quite sweet though.  Still - good advert for the Greek Islands - lovely scenery.

Our last Summer is a brilliant song when sung by Agnetha, full stop. The lyrics veer to corny at best, but she sings it (like The Name of the Game) with such a torrent of sexual je ne sais quoi, that it works.I'm using Italics a lot recently, aren't I? It's because she's worth it! Well, with reference to Colin Firth, I can't get past the 'Carry On' film that takes place during the French Revolution, where two of the characters are the lavatorially-named 'Bidet' and 'Darcy Pugh'.

I take it your opinion of Mr Firth's version is definitely not (got me at it now!!) "The Big Cheese"?

 (I think)
The whole "Mama Mia" thing is bit of a Cheese Fest, I agree - but that is what it is supposed to be - not trying to be a great musical production - a bit of fun and froth with people singing along to the tunes (which do stick in the head!) and enjoying it for what it is - and no intention to compete with Agnetha's renditions of the original.
