First of all, let me just say that An Extraordinary Life is one of the best songs I've heard in a long, long time.  Even without Steves guitar solo towards the end.  It is such an uplifting song to me.

But when the song DOES hit the guitar solo - WOW!  Its sort of the explanation point to the song IMO.  There is nothing that tricky about the solo, but it seems to fit the song so perfectly. Its so damn melodic and audibly mesmerizing.

I was just wondering Johan - Is their input from everybody in the band on how the solo should be played/sound, or do you just let Steve do his thing?

From the wreckage - I will arise

I love that solo at the end...when I heard it the first time it put me over the edge on "Extraordinary Life" being not a good song but a GREAT was the perfect icing on the cake. There's something to be said for melodic solos....just ask David Gilmour from Pink Floyd.
