Holy toledo indeed, sounds like Lilly Allen (she drives me up the wall when I hear her voice, sorry)...I think the original is much easier on the ears...

who had  a VCR back then?!?  my family did not have a VCR until '83, and it had a wired remote.

Really saddened by LaFontaine's passing; I'm an admirer. I've done a fair bit of voice work, but I'm so far short of his league I'm not even on the same planet....

my high school had one in the early 80s   my family not until a little later

Little too staccato for my taste...  I think it is the drummer's driving beat that seems to be affecting the voice,  but props to them for having the desire to take a whack at it, no?
