Just back from the Buxton gig - what a great venue, mind you i did have front row seats. Its very intimate and good sound and you are very close to the band.
The set was tight , John sounded extremely good and looks very well - in fact much better than when we went to see them last year in Manchester. Carls drumming excellent, Geoff his usual  flamboyant self and Steve just a virtuoso ! I think the band sounds as good as i've heard them, and they looked like they were enjoying themselves !
If you are going to catch them this tour, you are in for a treat.

Thankyou, Mark--it is indeed a lovely venue, isn't it? I don't think we played as well as we have, and Geoff and I were plagued by D.I.box gremlins for some unknown reason, but a very enjoyable gig. Nice to see a Derby County shirt on the first row, dead centre, right in front of me.The female who screamed at the announcement of Heroine reminded me of the Catherine Tate neurotic woman who screams when the alarm clock goes off in the morning.

I was on the centre aisle seat your right. I brought my wife, mate and his wife they were well impressed. My mate was a little sceptical when i got tickets - but on the way back he said '' not a lot moves me these days that did  - they are proper musicians'' - Praise indeed!  He particularly enjoyed the Crimson number. I thought you sounded excellent  - i saw your last gig at the Academy in Manchester and I wasnt impressed with the sound, the sound last night was excellent. Even better was the fact that you looked extremely well - just keep looking after yourself !

So are you going to continue with venues like Buxton? I have to say it was a really nice atmosphere and the girls really enjoyed it - a bit different to sticking to the floor of the Academy !! Gets my vote - and as we all get older its a damn site more confortable and civillised. It got me thinking how privilleged we are to have you all together and playing so well - i bought my first Asia Album in 1982 damn near 30 years ago Not many other bands can say that !!!

Buxton is a lovely venue and a lovely little town. The Opera House is from another age but perfect for rock gigs (saw Martin Turner there last year with Focus). Sorry I couldn't make it.

I will, however, be at the New Brighton gig tomorrow and am looking forward to seeing the band play my side of the river for a change (last  time was L'pool Carling Academy) and in the newly built Floral Pavilion as well.

Kick off is around 7:30pm and hope to see any other local fans there ... and my guardian angel (the big fellah - Mr.D)...

There are a couple of guys at work who have the nickname "Thrush" for similar reasons.
