Thank you, Dennis!

With all that is going on for you in Japan right now, I'm nearly incredulous that you are making the time to journal (and post photos!).

I'm not the only one enjoying it though, clearly.

[smile]

I can't imagine "standing" through the acoustic section LOL. For me, its almost like I have to quietly "absorb" the solemn beauty of the moment Interesting!

If you get to hit a record store, let us know how you like that (esp if you find /ASIA\-related product!).

Fun to vicariously enjoy this trip to Japan "with" you, Dennis...!!

The show in Osaka was another superb event!  I met up with my good friends KC and DD for this show.  I chatted with Steve a bit before the show and said hello to Martin as well.  One change to the set list from Nagoya included Geoff's keyboard solo which was the Bolero from Cutting It Fine with an extra bit set in the middle.  He clearly has command of this rented gear now!  Again, the crowd was on their feet from beginning to end.  Even better performance from all the band this evening if that were even possible.  John was obviously charged and all the band were engaged with the crowd.  Like I said before, Asia is such a great live band.  John's typical Japanese banter also included local Osaka greeting of, "Mai-doh!" which was very well received by a tremendous crowd.  Another sell out!  Stopped by the desks to bid farewell to Alec and Steve and then we were off to get a late dinner, Osaka soul food at Ohibo restaurant in a nearby plaza.  Well, back to bed now since it's just 4:00AM here.  Meeting up with KC and DD at noon for our flight back to Tokyo.  Next stop, Shibuya.  I hope "My Own Time" makes it back to the set list for one of the final shows!!!  Here are a few photos from the Osaka show.  This time, they allowed cell phone cameras but I only had my pay as you go Japanese cell phone on me which has a terrible camera. So sorry but it's the best that I could get.

Another great concert from Asia in Shibuya tonight.  This crowd remained in their seats until the last few songs but this did not mean they were not as energetic and appreciative as the Nagoya and Osaka crowds.  One thing I forgot to mention is that John played Sole Survivor in Drop D Tuning each night.  Very powerful!  Strong performances again from all!  Had a nice visit with the band afterwards.  My Facebook friend, Mari, was at the concert and backstage as well.  You may remember her as the lovely lady who modeled John's "Raised In Captivity" t-shirt on this site.  Had a nice chat with Steve and Alec  again before the show and said hello to Martin, Val and Aki.  I can't stress how very gracious everyone has been at these shows.  I have really enjoyed myself thanks to all of them.  Regrettably, tomorrow will be the final show of the Japan tour.  Here are some photos from the evening...

Yes, really appreciative audience, and I'm glad I was one of them. [smile] I was in front of Sam so could watch his fantastic guitar play, really enjoyable. My personal highlight was Gravitas, of course and John's voice was strong and beautiful as always.
Have to meet a deadline at work by the evening and will attend my second and last concert with my daughter.

Another superb performance by Asia for the final show of the 2014 Japan tour!  Special thanks to the entire band, Martin and Val of QEDG Mgt and Aki of UDO Artists for making this trip very special for me.  I really appreciate everyone so very much!  It was very nice to see all my friends, including but certainly not limited to KC & DD, Steve, Mari, Tomoo, Alec, Hideo, Yukari, Tadashi and other fans of John Wetton and Asia.  I can't wait for the next time I visit Japan.  Until then, I look forward to seeing Asia shows in North America this fall.  Now off to Narita in a couple of hours on my way to Okinawa for a couple of days.

Here is another batch of mediocre photos of this evening...

Really nice to see you again, John! And. Dennis! Many Japanese fans might be really pleased that John came and play in Japan frequently.  On November, Geoff will come to Japan again as YES.  Recently, I can meet with John much more times than a distant relative!  Unfortunately, I could go to only the Friday's show because I could not take a holiday on my work. I wanted to go to see all shows...  I was heard from my friend that the first show at Tokyo was the best.

John, for keeping your good health condition, please drink my green tea sometimes!

I'm looking forward to seeing you again in Japan. When will you come?

Thank you, John!

Nice to see you, Tomoo.  Sorry we did not get to visit longer.  It is now twenty years since I first met you.  I hope to see you again soon.

John, very nice to see you as well.  Superb shows!  Thanks for everything.  See you in the States this fall.

Thanks again to Martin and Val!

I totally agree, Mana!
Although I wouldn't have minded had John and Asia remained playing here for the rest of the month and more, that must be a greedy wish. [nono]
I think Go and An Extraordinary Life are great choices and hope they remain in the set list for the rest of the tour (with addition of Nyctophobia and a couple from Omega must be nice, but alas, I won't be there!)
Re photos, I must have been away from the world for a long time, people were taking photos with their smart phones! My daughter had a digital camera, a cell phone and a smart phone as she always has in her bag, so she took it as a mission to take blurry photos with her smart phone. So thanks to her, I now have a few souvenir pictures.[wink]

How was your trip home, John? Hope it was a nice one. [smile]

Thank you, Masnem!

I have already missed the 4 days which ASIA played in this Country, so I was depressed a bit yesterday.
I wish they had stayed and played more here, but it is too greedy as you say.

I agree with you about the set list!  Nyctophobia is a wonderful song. It has lingered in my ears since I listened it for the first time.
Plus, I love Prayin' 4 A Miracle - it would be nice to add the set list, and I would love to listen to it - maybe next!!

I thought that to be allowed to take pictures was a nice attempt, because the audiences could take their own souvenir home. The pictures that your daughter took could be wonderful memories for you!![smile]

Well, a new week already has come, hope you have a wonderful Monday!!

Best wishes
