If you plan on attending the /ASIA\ show in ORLANDO... post your pre-show thoughts, reviews, memories, et al here.

We're now within 3 weeks of the show, and reading fan reviews here on the GuestBook from OTHER cities just gets me more and more excited with the build-up to showtime!

(I'll be attending both the Clearwater / Tampa Bay and the Orlando show as well. Is anyone here ALSO planning to hit the "I-4 Corridor" cross-state for both Florida shows??)

(PS - I made the $$ leap, and purchased my very first /ASIA\ **V.I.P.** fan package this morning for Orlando. Now, I'm *REALLY* excited...! Anyone else here planning on going? I just want a couple pics with the band, and tell John "THANK YOU" for creating the soundtrack of my life for 30 years... "V.I.P" for John Wetton and the band of my youth - all 4 guys at soundcheck too, wow. What a cool way to see "The Wizard Of OZ" at work behind the curtain - AND get autographs LOL...)

Hi Agent,

My wife and I will also be on stage with you as VIP's for the Orlando show.

This will be my first time meeting John, been waiting 30 years.
I had met Geoff and Steve during the Aqua tour at an informal meet and greet
around '91 or '92 when they were in South Florida for the Hurricane Andrew relief
concert and met them again during the Yes tour this year in Boca.

John,
How about playing a piece of "Lying to Yourself" during sound check...?
Even 20 seconds would be amazing...

the Irongoalie wishes...

Hi John,

I have a question re: the "ASIA VIP Meet N Greet", please...

I just received the email re: my M&G for /ASIA\ - and inside, it says you may bring any 2 CDs and / or albums: As long as they are ASIA-branded items ONLY.

MY QUESTION: Would it be okay with you, respectfully, to bring my poster of ALPHA as 1 of my 2 items to be signed by you and the band??? (It is fairly tattered at the edges, from several house moves over the years - but I have owned this ASIA poster and had it on my wall since I was 14 years old - if it is okay with you, it is a very sentimental item, and would mean a lot to me to get signed.)

Thank you for your consideration, in advance,
-Douglas

FLORIDA fans!!

ORLANDO is in 2 nights... any other /ASIA\ fans here joining irongoalie & I at The Plaza Theatre to witness the Florida soil shift, beneath the subaudible power of John Wetton's chest cavity-rupturing Moog Taurus BASS PEDALS???

I am *incredibly* anxious and excited to hear the new songs of "X X X" LIVE!!

Its time to show John and the ONE, TRUE, *ORIGINAL* /ASIA\ how much Florida has MISSED our beloved troubadors... and to give this band a vocal, enthusiastic WELCOME... (along with a memorable reason to RETURN to the Sunshine State!!)

Florida anxiously AWAITS you, John...

Woo!

What an eye-opening, life-affirming 48 hours travelling "with" /ASIA\ across the state of Florida... Tampa Bay / Clearwater last night, Orlando tonight.

I will give more of a show synopsis tmrw after SLEEP... this "rock star lifestyle" with /ASIA\ for 2 days HAS TIRED ME OUT!

LOL

- Show in Orlando was ASTONISHING. SO well performed AND received!!

- John's onstage banter with the crowd was so personable, loved that! The "MICHIGAN" show references were hilarious, so funny!

- V.I.P. package was THE DEFINITIVE /ASIA\ "True Fan" experience. Exceeded my "wildest dreams", it was managed SO professionally - and yet with such an equally personal touch by every member - to wvery V.I.P. /ASIA\ fan.

John,

My 3rd year in a row seeing you with ASIA last night, and I must say another excellent show!  All four of you really were given it your all throughout the show.  Highlights for me were Cutting it Fine (1st time for me live and it was great), Time Again, TTW, TSHLYE, Sole Survivor, and a great pick from Omega-Holy War (especially fast pumped up song, not sure how Carl can do that song then go straight into his marathon solo---simply amazing!!)!!  Open your Eyes was great too, but because I already had researched the setlist, I knew the night of GREAT music was going to be ending too soon so unfortunately I let that distract me.

Your voice sounded strong and great, the whole night, and it was really powerful on the 2nd half of TSHLYE!  Again, AMAZING!!  If you were still in pain you hid it well.  I know when I'm in pain (except for a headache) hearing great music makes me feel better;  hopefully it works the other way for you to, i.e. singing great music makes your pain feel better for awhile.

My kids were both completely impressed (my daughter knew most of the songs and is a big fan now of FOTB; my son didn't know as many, but was in awe of a lot of things).  Being 3rd row right in front of you, to your right, I had to explain a few things to him since it was first concert, like: what the heck was on your thumb, why Geoff waves his hand over the end of his keyboard a lot (not just because it looks cool), etc.  All in all, they both enjoyed it.  My daughter wanted the blue Omega shirt with the tiger and wore it on our ride home this afternoon.  Proud parent here.

Thanks again for great music!  Missed the m&g this time, but will plan on doing again next time.

Safe travels back home, for some well deserved rest.

Steve

Sheesh, forgot how busy Turkey Day festivities are.

Its like this - after a 2-day runthrough of Florida:
- John & the band had to split from Orlando for the considerably "opposite" part of the country to play in Michigan...
- I drove home from the show (4 hours) to Palm Beach County, practically woken up out of dead slumber to an apron tied around my neck... LOL.

"Your big Asia trip is over. I need you in the kitchen to help me make food for your children on Thanksgiving."

LOL!!

The ol' spousal shakedown of reality...

My VIP vacation in the "Heat Of The Moment" was GREAT WHILE IT LASTED!

(As soon as I can get her out of the house for some Black Friday shopping, I can make some guilt-free time to properly review Clearwater/Tampa Bay & Orlando's /ASIA\ shows!

I hope everyone has been enjoying the "X X X" shows as much as I have this week...!

Hi John,

Thanks again for providing a great night in Orlando.  Watching the show from the VIP seats on stage was incredible!

Also, it was great to share a laugh at the guy who was in front of me waiting to take the photo with the band when he said,
"can I just have a pic with Geoff and I" - nice that we have the same sense of humor - LOL!

Question:  I see that YES is playing a local concert in Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise - any possibility that you either solo or with UK will do the same?

All the best,
The Irongoalie
