The little people who live in my house were making too much noise for me to catch much of the show Monday night. I ended up taping it and listened yesterday.

As others said, the songs they played were great. '"My Own Time" was a wonderful surprise and I have to say I have a new appreciation for "Heroine". I think I prefer the stripped down version to that on the CD. I think the piano during the first verse of the song is beautiful but then from the chorus on it gets sort of "lost" in the mix. I'm not a musician and have no ear for that kind of thing. Maybe it is still there, I don't know. I only hear it in parts . But I liked the acoustic version a bit better because at the heart of it was just John's voice and the piano. It was lovely.

The countrified "Heat of the Moment"?

At one point in the interview they were taking about how they chose the previous band songs they were going to play. It sounded like they had two in mind for each band and the three people not IN that band got to vote. So I have to ask. WAS there another Buggles song on the table? If so, what? VKTRS makes the most sense, but I am wondering what might have been the alternate.

I enjoyed the part about other bands the guys listen to. I wished Geoff had mentioned someone, but they moved on to the next question before he did. Anyway, I had to laugh when Steve (I think it was him) mentioned Babyshambles. My sister and I listened to that CD on the way to Vegas to see Asia! I had never heard of them but my sister had, likes them, and brought the CD for the road trip so I could hear it.

April -- it was cool to hear your voice! What was the story behind the helmet and Carl? I didn't understand all that.

I liked the part when the interiewer asked Carl if ELP has any future plans and I'm not sure who in the background starts to cry "Please get back together Carl, please."

I think my favorite non-music moment of the interview was when he asked the question about what other bands had asked the guys to join them that you'd be surprised to know about. And Geoff had been asked to join Foreigner. Wow. Had NO idea about that! This would have been right around the time "4" was recorded and the thought that if they had asked him to join a few weeks earlier that Geoff would have done the intro to "Waiting for a Girl Like You" and not Dolby. I think Geoff would have gotten buried in Foreigner with Jones and Gramm, so I'm glad things worked out the way they did!

Needless to say, I REALLY enjoyed that interview! The only thing that would have made it better would have been the video to go along with the audio.

I think I heard in a recent interview (with Geoff maybe?) where Living in the Plastic Age was mentioned.  I'll have to go back & relisten to exactly what was said.  ...I'd love to hear them do ELSTREE!

They played that??? Man that makes me want to go out and subscribe to XM right now. LOVE that song. It was the one track on ALPHA that I kept coming back to when I bought the album in '83. Anyone know if you can get this program online or if XM streams?

Sorry if this might have been covered way back, but I don't remember seeing it...  I wonder if any material from Drama was ever considered, given that we had 2 of the guys on it.  It would have been interesting and I'm sure it would have drawn 100 addtional rabid Yesheads to each show.

Howdy,

Has anyone recorded the ASIA XM radio program? I'm sure a copy from the original broadcast would be superior to an internet capture. In any case it looks like it will be on again today at 12 p.m. EST. ... I missed the first five minutes :-(

Did anyone record this?

Peace,

Jeff
