Now that the 2014 Gravitas tour is over, what could possibly be next?  Does anyone know? I haven't seen anything yet.  Oh no, I am not being impatient.  Just looking forward to what's next.  It is good to have something to look forward to and I am looking forward to John's and Asia's new adventures.

GRAVITAS has been a truly magical era for me as an /ASIA\ fan.

I felt the new album was, perhaps, "less immediate" for me than "X X X" was... and yet, nearly 8 months since release, I still find myself listening to the full CD 3-4 times a week. The subtle nuances in the music are really, really rewarding.

AND THOSE VOCALS! Take me to church, John - this is what I loved about those "Mike Stone productions" with /ASIA\ and Journey: big big big choruses!!!

"The closer I geeeet, to youuuuu..."

"IIIIII wouuuuld dieeeeee - for youuuu..."

"Valkyrieeeeeeee, -ieeeeee, -ieeeeee..."

It may take me 2 or 3 more years to come down from this. But I have to say: the new album itself AND the concerts to support GRAVITAS (I saw them in Beverly Hills / L.A. a couple weeks ago) are absolute creative peaks for this band.

I'm enjoying the heat of the moment - THIS moment - so much, I'm really not ready for 'new album talk' yet!

(HAVING SAID THAT - Were any GRAVITAS shows recorded for DVD?? John is singing SOooooo WELL right now - we fans need this for posterity! "Voice Of America" (never a fave for me before) just absolutely sucker-punched my wife and I BOTH. GORGEOUS, EMOTIONAL, MOVING - a true revelation for me, as a fan who has seen John every tour since 2006. Again: "DVD, please"...?)

What happened to the orchestra concept?  There were some vids on the Gravitas DVD, but I thought it was supposed to be a full release?

I would be happy with just the soundboard recording of the show(s). Of course I would prefer the one at the Canyon theater in California. [smile])

I have to agree as well about the voice. And the overall sound of the band. Truly better than ever. The same cannot be said for most bands 30 years into it.

Hi John, belated congratulations on the Asia show at BB Kings.' You sounded Great, as usual. I sat with The Admiral. We hung out for about an hour after the concert and briefly saw Geoff and met Sam.
Tonite the Little Lady and I are attending Steve Hackett's Genesis show in The Big Apple. Looking forward to you walking out from backstage to sing "Afterglow" or "Watcher." One can always dream! It should be a great night, beginning with a New York Stike at Rosie O'Grady's.

Hi, Boz---I didn't know you were in the BB building! I would've come to meet'n'greet you! Glad you enjoyed. The Hackett show is terrific, I do appear sometimes at unexpected times with my dear friend Steve. The band is splendid, and Steve is top man with the banjo (and harmonica) of course. I look forward to maybe seeing you in the New Year, there'll be a UK show in NYC--stay tuned to the page  for date. All very best, J

Hey Boz,

Good to see you on here...hope you enjoy Steve Hackett. Also, all the best to The Management (West) and have one of your beers for me. Did drop you an email in the NY, but not sure if it got through.

PK.

I see they are saying it is U.K.'s FINAL tour.  I hope that means a leg in the United States too! [biggrin]

I never, ever, EVER would have believed I would have a chance to see "U.K." perform in my lifetime. I was a "2nd gen" John fan who discovered his back catalog AFTER becoming an /ASIA\ fan.

I got to see Wetton / Jobson / Bozzio (with Machacek) perform a "U.K." reunion show @ Grand Central in Miami in early 2013, and it truly was one of the most thrilling nights of music I have ever experienced.

John's bass playing, his tone... "Rendezvous", "Dead Of Night", "Carrying No Cross" live... seeing John sing ANYTHING from that band, much less a full set, is one of the most fulfilling nights of music a Wetton fan could experience. I can't believe its going to be "goodbye" - but there's a noble dignity to allowing your fans a chance to say goodbye in such a way. Total class.

If the "U.K." tour takes John & Eddie back to Florida, I will be there. Meanwhile, for those of you in Europe - enjoy the moment.

I am really looking forward to finding out where John will be playing his solo gigs.
I have never seen JW live solo, so keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to attend.
