I came across this while looking for something else - it describes the track on this DAVID FOSTER album with "Richard Page helps out with backing vocals on the Asia-sounding "Who's Gonna Love You Tonight".

What do you reckon?

(There is a crude audio clip on the website.)

I've listened to that track many times John trying to nail what they consider to be "ASIA sounding" in it. All I could come up with was the bell synth used - which could sound like its from ASIA type of song .The tempo is also little more slower..... would have sounded more like ASIA if you had done the backing vocals..

It sounds like they are trying to cash in on by drawing relevance to ASIA style music. Thats gotta be a compliment.

Only song I like by David Foster is "Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire" other than that I don't know much about his music.

David Foster has done a lot of work with Josh Groban.  Groban is among Mrs. Sarge's favorite vocalists.  The kid has pipes.

Foster composed the theme for the '88 winter Olympics held here in Calgary.

You know that white line that runs down the middle of a road, that's DF. Very, very bland, esoteric stuff. Has worked with a lot of people but really homogenizes their sound. Makes a ton a bucks doing so as was evident in his reality show last year. The one where he tried to be an Ozzie Nelson type Dad to his stepson's, two H'wood playboys partying and hanging with every up and coming Britney-esque wannabe in Orange County. If I remember correctly, I think he single handed killed the Tubes back in the 80's.

Now if you want a reality show I'd watch, let's get one with some of our fav Bournemouth boys. E! could call it "Oh That Frippin' Wetton," narration c/o RPJ.

Foster did a lot with Chicago during the mid 80's and this song is in that vein.

No, not ASIA, but Chicago and TOTO?, yes.

Chicag0wned!

Love the early stuff from this band. I believe their rippin original drummer: Danny Seraphine, runs his Own! band now called California Transit Authority. A bit sad, really....

t0t0wned!!

The recent Toto albums are fantastic, just almighty playing and production. I almost had to be tied down to listen to it but now I love it.

AisA

I just heard about California Transit Authority via the ELP-Disc yahoo group. Keith Emerson appears on their CD, contributing Hammond on I'm a Man, and Marc Bonilla (who's currently handling axe duties in Emo's band) appears throughout. Gotta get me a copy of this disc. Spent many hours listening to the 1st 5 Chicago albums on my dad's 8-tracks as a kid   Terry Kath was an amazing guitarist! and the Chicago horns are still tight as ever.

If there is a white line down the middle of your road, you're riding the shoulder.
