Wait, don't left-handed players STRUM with their left hand and make the chords with their right?

Jay, if you're responding to Azure, fine.  I was only according with the subject line.  John is a righty, and used to pluck the strings from bottom to top with his right hand, using his index and middle fingers in the traditional way.  Left hand did the intonating on the fretboard.

Were you talking about guitar?  Bassists don't "strum," usually.  They pick or finger pluck.

So screw me, I interjected.

Jay, what John is saying is he is naturally a southpaw ... (obviously we all know he plays bass right handed).
He states that although he plays that way, he feels the left hand does all the work & I agree with his statement 100%
although I am no bass player, your left hand does do all the work and perhaps all the fun
I know I should stay out of this conversation cause again, I am no geetar player .... when i pick up an acoustic, when available, I play it upside down and I strum with my left hand.
And I believe Borath is correct, you do not strum a bass. (again, I'm no bass player, but it makes sense, especially since he himself Borath, is a fantastic bassist)
I played tenor sax and some piano, now that's a subject I have confidence in discussing.

Oh!!! Ok I get it! Thanks Azure! and yes, I am very well aware that you don't strum a bass guitar. I was only referring to a six-string.

If so I'm sure that it would have been ....let's go with interesting!  PS ...Why does the @#%!* spell check not like your last name???

Nice to hear Deaky get a mention, especially when Freddie and Brian get most of the attention in Queen. John is a very underrated bassist and deserves a mention in anyone's list.
