Just curious--  noticed the aforementioned subject tune is included on OMEGA.  I gave the sample a listen and while I hear the original tune the end sound is very different.  No complaints, just found it interesting that an ICON tune is on an ASIA album.  Thanks -- I'm looking forward to the new record.

Although I love this song from the excellent 'Rubicon' album, this not the perfect choice to start a new ASIA album if you ask me. A very interesting remake, but still a remake. I expected a HUGE ANTHEMIC opening track for 'Omega', like 'Heat Of The Moment' - 'Don't Cry' - 'Go' - 'Never Again'.
Looking forward to the new album as well.

i respectfully disagree. the opening track (if that what is) is fine. Asia is ASIA, and they don't need a HUGE ANTHEM to start off a record!

dear oinkle john...
me and rebekah were listening to the new song previews for the new cd. as we were grooving and enjoying 'finger on the trigger' and you sang " you had me by the b@ll$!" beky looked at me and just started laughing. as you can imagine this put me in an akward position because i was laughing too. she then told me it would have been better if oinkle john sang  "had me by the tenders".

I don't know but I suspect that this song may be a late replacement for the song that the record label axed.

With respect, Geraszman, I also must disagree. I thought this 'Finger On The Trigger' was a very clever, very Asia take on the original, and I liked the clip a great deal. To my mind, it launches the listener right into the album, much as did HOTM, etc., on their respective albums. I'm confident that will be the consensus once the final result is on our hot little iPods...!

Just because the songs are listed in that order in the article doesnt necessarily mean thats how thay'll be on the actual album.  Why would they put "Emily" (the bonus track) right in the middle.  Regardless - ASIA's version of "Finger on the Trigger" sounds pretty rockin for an opening song to me!

Fact:FOTT is Frontiers Boss Serafino's favourite W/D song EVER by a country mile.I think we do it well, but I'm biased.

So the boss wanted the song in then? I think both versions will sound great. Some of us may have picked another ICON song though? That one was already a pretty good rocker in it's own right.

Here Comes The Feeling from the debut was a previously recorded song with Atoll so this is not a first for the band...I love the Icon version and think the boys should be given the latitude they've earned...I think they know what their doing, wouldn't you agree?

I have no problem with this at all. A great song is a great song, and music is written to be interpreted and performed not just by the original composers, but by everyone. Asia's take is different for sure, but man does it rawk . Plus it will also help introduce the casual Asia fan to Icon, just as "Orchard of Mines" exposed me to the music of Globus who I had never heard of before...how can that be a bad thing?
