Not so fast beontime! Although you should totally skip this post

Dave, the file actually clips a bit at times in Adobe Audition, but that seems to the norm with that program, not sure why. I did run it in Pro Tools and Sonar from Cakewalk and as you said, it's pegged, but doesn't clip.

Either way, this tune is a rocker and hopefully will get some attention for the band.

Take this in an oh-gosh-darn tone of voice.  ALRIGHT, I'll go back and read and learn along the way.  First, tonight I must get lost in Lost.

I knew you would do that em!

The only thing I noticed while playing through ProTools is that the levels are nearly pegged throughout. Not clipped, but close enough to the ceiling to dust it. There are two reasons for that;

One is this idea that louder is better held by so many of our suited record company friends. Maybe they have their reasons, but I don't share their view. When tracks like that ever do make it to radio they just get compressed to smithereens again by the station and the result sounds like mud in your car.

The other reason (which is easier for me to warm up to) is that the band is ROCKING OUT! That song is pretty much full tilt all the way through so the dynamics are topped out from beginning to end anyway. They've done a remarkable job keeping the vocals out front on top of all that signal though.

Any true opinions about it should be reserved until you have the disc in your hands. There's no telling the path that WAV file took before it landed on your computer.

SUPER-DUPER TECHNO NERD ALERT!!!!

God love ya,

Maybe we should begin posts like that with a nerd warning.

But "shoe nerd"?

Oh, Dave....you clearly have no idea.  Shoes are the Alpha, the Omega, and quite a bit of the in-between when it comes to my wardrobe.  You could also say I am the holder O'mega amounts of shoe knowledge that nobody will ever need.

So, there ya go, a casual definition of a mega shoe nerd.  'Good thing I have Sir Wetton's music to distract me...although some of it is excellent for shopping, I must admit...

I guess it would take a while to walk a mile in your shoes.

Well, I'll never hack it as a shoe nerd - Amie & G1 can handle it for me.  But I can be part of the chocolate and JW group around here.  A dash of our past thoughts on rock gods and leather or denim adds a little spice.

Oh, you're right with THAT, ksw!  Nothin' much is yummier than chocolate 'cept Sir Wetton in his leathahs!  I'd walk a mile in even MY shoes to see dat!  (OK, admittedly, I'd walk a block and then hail a cab, but STILL!)

Ladies I have an idea, if one of my posts is longer than 3 lines it either means a geek alert, or a soapbox moment, so feel free to skip it ! Now back to shoes......do sneakers count?

Oh, I'd be happy to talk about John's shoes, believe me!  I would be the first to say that he has excellent taste in footwear.  G'head, Paulie...."put your cranky finger on that shoe trigger."  Hehe.
