Hope last night was fun, Johan.

Is playing in the States any different to playing in Europe, the UK or Japan? I guess the crowd can vary at any venue but is there a particular type of audience that you particularly appreciate?

Sorry, one more wee question - do you guys tend to analyse the show the next day, discuss what was great/what was not so great about it, or just concentrate on your own performance?

All the best for the upcoming shows.

There are no post mortems, unless something has gone badly wrong, that evening.Sound check next day is the time to address anything, because then it is more advantageous in the cold light of the next day,and within a chance of being rectified that night.

Thanks Johan. You're right, it's often good to look at things in the cold light of day. I remember seeing Rabin-era Yes analysing a performance on the 9012 Live DVD, and it was really interesting. Maybe that sort of behind the scenes stuff will be on a new Asia Phoenix tour DVD, maybe of the Tokyo show?

Great show last night.  I made the trek out to Pa for the start of the tour...and it was well worth it.  You can clearly see that this band is REALLY enjoying playing together again...and enjoying each other as people as well.  There were some sound problems with Carl's drums at one point....but they all played it off so well and interjected some humor into the show.  They sounded great, and Steve was just all over the place like he was in his 20's!  John's voice was in top form, as was his bass playing. Carl just drops my jaw every time I see him play. He is the best drummer! Geoff was his typical master at the keys.  Some wonderful key layers on the new songs.  My friends wife was up and dancing for all of HEAT OF THE MOMENT.....I pointed her out to John...he looked like he got a kick out of her!
Kim....Wonderful to see you again. I was so involved in a conversation with 2 friends that I didn't have a chance to chat with you much! My apologies. I still owe you that drink.  Rain check OK?
John and Kat...you are 2 great people.  I look forward to us finally doing our little musical project together this year.  See you at the next show.

A S I A rocked Wilkes Barre !
It was the first time I ever saw the original Asia live and it was better than I ever dreamed. Steve Howe is the MAN! John Wetton's voice is beyond description. Geoffrey Downes plays like a genius. Carl Palmer is like a machine. It was an honor to be in the audience.  I think one of the band's kids was in the audience. There was a girl sitting way up front in the center with a pass. I don't know who she was with.
Will there be any live CD or DVD from the tour this time?

I'm certainly hoping so Daniel!

There's a special show planned for Japan which could be a candidate, or maybe an extra show for somewhere else (just speculation) but Johan has I think said before that there are contractual issues preventing another live DVD being released soon after Fantasia. Certainly, it would be a great shame if live Phoenix material didn't see the light of day on DVD or CD at some point. I imagine it will.
