Greetings one and all from Darkest nearly Dover, where the Raspberrys are very much in bloom and Brass Monkeys are looking extremely worried.

Just wondering Johan if there were any plans for an Icon Live dvd ?

With two albums worth of fantastic Icon material i feel that an Icon dvd would play very nicely on my home system.

Watched the Underworld dvd again last night(is it possible to wear out a dvd?),and i have to say that i really miss Starless off of the recent playlists,i don't suppose that you would consider re-instating such a timeless classic, preferably played by the favoured banjoist Mr JCM,back where it belongs -being played LIVE by master musicians.

Isn't it a lovely time of year,Ivor,on the south holy ghost of ol' blighty, with the raspberries prominently visible, and the sunshine encouraging ample exposure of Harrises,Bristols and denim-clad Camels. Not to mention the flash of lacy Bill Grundies which cannot escape a young (I use that word poetically) man's mince pies.Yes, something stirs, and it's great to be alive. What was I saying? Oh,yes,Ivor--every possibility of a DVD from iCon this year--probably won't be the mega-plush limousine of the Asia extravaganza, more the old banger experience of 'Live in the Underwear' --but I think this set needs to be documented, plus we can do stuff that we cannot do with the 'pro band' (i.e.from iCons ,'Astra', W/D, Days Like These, etc). I think the set for Russia will be one for safety, because of time limitations, and the shows are squeakily close to Asia Japan, but the next time iCon tours (probably November),we can go to town.

Thanks for such a prompt reply Johan,i guess there must have been a lull in the Harrises, and Bristols down Bournemouth way,not to mention Denim clad Camels.....Mmmm Denim clad Camels......!! Always thought that the lacy Bill Grundies weren't the same after the Sex Pistols though.(never mind the Bill Grundies, here's my Bollocks comes to mind).

I have always prefered the old bangers to the flashy Limo, you know where you are with an old banger, and don't have to plug 'er in to a diagnostic  to find out how she's ticking.

I've been reading the Michael Palin Diaries, the Python years, and am now wondering if you have ever had any dealings with, or have met any of the Pythons.A great read though if you haven't got it,£9.96 from your nearest Tesco, the capitalist bastards (apparently,if you believe the papers)

I played footy for Rick Wakeman's XI.It was a charity team, and once we played as the opening act to a real Soccer match at Molyneux, home of the Wolves.Terry Jones also played that evening,as we faced a local Birmingham radio station team--the female players' sole job was to pull our shorts down in front of 30,000 rabid intoxicated Brummies. It was fun,and Terry and I sat together on the coach journey down the M1. He's a tremendous guy, a lot of fun, but I could not get the mental picture out of my mind of him as Mad King Otto--naked,playing the Hammond Organ.

It sounds more to me like he saw Otto's Organic Organ.

I picked up a copy of "Icon Live DVD - Osaka" at the gigs in Tokyo. Got it signed after the second show.

This appears to be an official 'bootleg' release. Just wondering if it's planned for a wider release, or whether anyone's seen it outside of Japan ?

It's not an exactly polished DVD with menu's etc. but still an enjoyable DVD capturing an Icon show from Osaka in 2006.

I picked up the ICON - Acoustic TV Broadcast DVD and was quite disappointed in that the audio mixing did not allow to hear John's bass or guitar playing nearly at all. Fortunately, his singing comes through very well. I just really wanted to hear his playing as well.

Well then, you "must" secure yourself a copy of "Urban Psalm". That is the Documented ICON Statement you are looking for.

Thanks, Ty, for the info. A quick search did not turn anything up on Amazon. Is there a special place one must go to secure such a copy?

It's easy, Paul. Look at this site 'cybershop' window.
