At the moment there are some Music Shows like Ultimative Chart Show or Hit Giganten on German TV. And that's pretty cool, because they have themes like Rock Classics or Flower Power and that's music I like
And some bands perform "live" in the studio. For example Uriah Heep, Chris Thompson, Sweet, T Rex, Barclay James Harvest and so on. But nearly all of them don't play really live. And that looks so silly, because sometimes they are too late or the music is too fast
I think I can imagine that it's not easy for the vocalist to "feel" the music, when he isn't really singing. So why not playing always live?

Let's face it,'miming' is a lot easier for everyone concerned (except the audience,of course)-there's no equipment, sound problems,rehearsals,etc.--and it sounds just like the record! Easy peasy!

I will add the caveat that lip-synching is not as easy as it looks. It's an art in itself.Fnarr,fnarr.
