What an inspired comp! Kudos to the Asia management team for these corporate tie-ups - it's great to see a 'veteran' band really GET and take advantage of the opportunities presented by 21st century media, instead of just moaning about how 'things aren't what they used to be'. There's more than one band I can think of who would do well to do the same...

Anyway congrats and I'll be doing my best to get my hands on those prizes!

I think for the video, it's just the band in front of a plain backdrop, and you get to add special effects and such.  That was the case with Ozzy last year.  I haven't seen a new video on Vh1.  I'm still trying to learn how to use Flash.
You just don't get videos like the good old days anymore.  MTV and Vh1 are all reality shows these days.  Even Vh1 Classic doesn't always have them anymore.  YouTube isn't 100% the same.

No sign of anything on the quicktime site.
I take it you will need to wait until America wakes up!
Unfortunately I have no moviemaking skills anyway.

My 14 year old is making one for AEL as a school project. I end up with the editing job! Hmmmff! Arrrgh!

Her storyboard is pretty cool. Showing the everyday wonders of everyday life that are to be enjoyed. Probably still a couple of weeks away as she shoots it in between softball commitments which are a plenty. She enlisted four young lads to stand in for the boys to be shot from behind, front spot lit and green screened so she can add in audience footage. Thanks god she has some friends that are techies, that can help her with this stuff. I am wrestling with that bit right now which is a bear to say the least. Gee, I hope I get a passing grade from the boss.

As a parent, I have to say I am biased but I do have to say I am glad I exposed her to JW's music early on as she really has a good feel for his music and has really adopted the song as her mantra.

Thought I would share this video from one of my other favorite 80's bands - The Hooters.  This is a song called "I'm Alive" from their new album.  They had a similar video contest and ended up using clips from all the fans.  The song has much the same message as "An Extraordinary Life", though said differently.  I have sort of adopted these two songs lately, to keep reminding myself what a gift life is.  Keeps me thinking positive when its so easy to get negative these days!

RD - I heard that new Hooters song on the radio this morning - you're right, it's very much in the same lyrical territory as AEL. Good song, dare I say another potential country-crossover? Glad to hear them back on the airwaves. Hey, I'm Alive even has a guitar solo -- come on mr. radioman, give the new ASIA a spin!

I've attached the flash demo I did for when ASIA announced there 25th Anniversary Tour. This was way before any graphics were available for the tour. So its all based on old graphics.

Anywho, it was 15 minute job to put together. I will gladly pass on the source code to anybody wanting to use it - modify it etc. The source code is SwishMax - which if you can use Microsofts POWERPOINT, you will be able to use this. It will get you into flash stuff faster then you can blink an eye... hehe... eye2eye..

I'll have to look in my backup hard drive, but there was 2 other versions that had fiery letters and bashed out the ASIA letters to "Kari Anne" in just an ASIA promo featuring that song.

The other version had the ASIA lettering floating above Earths atmosphere then got smashed by a meteor in which the letters fell onto the map of ASIA. Was way incomplete and was way to "Superman II" like...think of that glass thing floating in space. Time killed any of these things as I got busy doin' other projects.
