I watched/heard the DVD from the Tokyo show and though I liked it I could have used one more song from the Alpha record ... It's maybe not Asia's style but boy I think it would be kool for them on the new record to do a re- creation of the tune "Midnight Sun", with just piano & vocal, maybe some acoustic guitar ... not unlike the version of "Smile Has Left Your Eyes" they do ..... It was never a single so I think it would be fresh and well received ...
I've always liked the chorus melody, and how it repeats that major-to-minor, major-to-minor key progression ... I always thought that was an underrated song ... much like the song "Wishing".    - Padraic

Hi there 'rockin-in-Michigan'-- ASIA performed Midnight Sun several times during their June/July dates, a few months too late to be included on the DVD. John added a new verse & Geoff started the song with a nifty synth sequence. Perhaps something to look forward to in 2008...? BTW, haven't checked recently, but there had been a snippet of a 2007 performance of Midnight Sun on ASIA's myspace page.

I'm always glad when Michigan State loses (especially to UMich).  An certain ex teaches there and so of course losing is mandatory

The Michigan vs State was a great game! But the Michigan vs Ohio State is always more important for the UofM fans.
The Lions also won 44 to 7 on Sunday.
The State of Michigan is rated #1 in the country when it comes to sports.
Red Wings are hot and of course the Pistons won last night, but a nailbiter
won by one point!

Geno---we were planning on performing MS on the cancelled tour,so there's probably every chance that we'll do it next year.

Great to hear John! As corny as it sounds, you've been in my prayers as your recovery continues.

MS is also one of my Asia favourites, includes a really great guitar solo, as is Eye to Eye, which is one of the more progressive tunes.

I wouldn't mind to drop out all that music from their individual careers, and put 'em in together with Open your Eyes and Daylight and maybe something from the new album ?!? (Not to mention some of the great tunes from Astra)

I really enjoyed john doing all these solo-concerts that incl. stuff from his career (even if I never got the chance, to witness one of them), but i don't think that many of his fans are so happy with him singing Radio Star and Crimson King. OK, Radio Star, that was fun, but its wearing off.

And if Steve insists doing a guitar solo, i wouldn't mind hearing john singing something surprising, like "When Will You Realise", which would fit well into an Asia set. MHO

cheers!
