I'd like to upload a profile pic but for the life of me cannot do it. It says that they have to be less than 1MB and usually I am pretty savvy with things like this, but just how do you make them smaller than that to fit here? Thanks.

Leave them in the wash too long maybe?

I have the same problem. I "was" able to upload pics for years. Since then, it seems that I have been banned from doing so,lol. I was convinced an administrator was blocking me ? I sure would love to post pic's, yet again!

I had to open a photobucket account (free) and uploaded a photo on to there, then used the link from that website to this website then  Hey Presto!

Yes, photo bucket,. Not the same (a pain), and does not help with the avatar.

I understand your frustration - I couldn't figure it out either.  Did a google search and found  photobucket (as vid mentions above) - nice and easy to use.

Crushedgarnet...does this help? Maybe the software links at the bottom of the article, at least for general online use of pics?

If you want to re-size a pic try a free on-line editor. Pixlr and Splash-up are just 2 of many that are browser-based (nothing to download),easy to use,and you can do all sorts of neat things with them.

You'll still need to "host" your avatar at photobucket, flickr,or smugmug. I have both my avi and the  little teddy bear in my siggy hosted at pb.

Hi Crushed G,

I too have been having the same issue since March! I had my IT guy at work look at my pic to make sure I hadn't exceeded the size limit and still couldn't get it to work.  Kim D was kind enough to put me in touch with the site administrator who said they were aware of the problem and were working on it, but that was months ago. I even emailed my pic to him asking him to upload it, but never heard from him.  Someone had suggested using Picassa, but that didn't help either.

I'm very frustrated......I'll try some of the software mentioned in the posts.  Good Luck!

I have been unable to upload a pic as well, even though I am generally tech-savvy. I tried the Photobucket option, but it didn't work. Then I tried a software my brother suggested, and that didn't work either. I assumed it was just me. Thanks for sharing, friends. I'll keep an eye out for an answer here.

It looks like the website tool doesn't accept direct upload from your computer (it says limit thing even if I shrink it down to 48x48 pixels), neither does it accept HTML codes (as I tried it from my photobucket account). I tried a direct (hot) link (ending with jpg) and it worked.

Yeah - I lost my AVI a long time ago and gave up in frustration to add another one many moons ago.  Oh well...  I guess there are other things to worry about.
