Ms. Yankey played for us here in NJ for the Wildcats a short time ago and helped us win the W-League championship. She was awesome and nice to the kids afterwards signing a boat load of autographs and doing classes.

She was over here with a fellow countrywoman, Rachel Unitt. Great combo of a striker and left back. Sounds like a powerful, in and out type of footie...Yankey/Unitt, Yankey/Unitt....

Cab please!

Ignoring the call for a taxi--because, JK, I think you're Yankin' my chain---one thing I noticed about womens' soccer was that they seem to have buckets of stamina. Where mens' performance appears to taper off halfway through the second half, the women have an apparent 'Duracell' ability to still be at full-throttle at the game's climax (i.e.the final whistle).

Would the 'battery' run down should extra time be required?I did notice in the Germany match that the girls don't protect any part of their anatomy when in a wall facing free kicks. This adds speculation to my earlier claim that they don't use full size properly inflated balls.

I would never yank your chain JW, certainly not without being properly introduced.

I kid you not...I think they both played for Arsenal. And I did see them play together in NJ. They are both exceptional players!

Have to agree, I think women are FAR superior in the stamina department. In many areas I might add but I stickin' to footie, thank you very much.

For Amie's benefit,I must wax lyrical about the Brazilian Ladies. They are unbelievably good. They annihilated the host nation China last night. So,we'll be seeing more of them.

Hm, is there any other way for you to wax, Sir Johan? Yup, those Brazilians -- smooth annihilators, with or without cleats, no? Thanks for the kind benefaction.  I'd been waiting with bated breath. No ladies' footie channel here (not that it's my type of channel, or faction)...so surely you'll be seeing FAR more of those Brazilians than me.

England girls steamed their dumplings today as they unsurprisingly beat the surprisingly un-pulchritudinous Argies 6-1 in the Szechuan Province.
England face the ----tarraa----USA in the quarter-finals Saturday.
Just keeping you abreast of the footie situation.

tonight is a big night for the Rams! They really do need to take something from the game against Newcastle.

Johan did you here about the little scandal between China and Denmark's
womens soccer teams. They caught 2n chinese men taking pictures of the team meeting for Denmark before the game. Sounds odd you would think they would take picutes in the shower. I know dont reply  to that one./ Just thought it was humorous
