How's this for a name? The Cosmic Cup Coffee Shop on Cattell Street, if I recall. Wicked good cappos and brevas with a killer Expresso Con Panna. First round on me!

I'm with you there, Peg. Despite how bad things sound, I consider myself to be a very lucky man, as most people with this condition usually get diagnosed after check-ups following their first heart attack. I went for a check-up because I thought it was an old injury playing up, and found out all about this without that ever coming to pass, so I've been given a unique opportunity to turn my life around and make the necessary changes so that it needn't get that far. As the great man has said/sung, this is an extraordinary life, and that song is now my official theme tune.

I just want to take the opportunity to say a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support, both in public and in private, as that has been of enormous comfort to me, and a big thank-you to you as well John, as your music and your own personal experiences have been and will remain a constant inspiration to me, and your online friends here are the best in the world!

I wish you all the best GW. All will work out eventually.

Been having deep, worried thoughts about those suffering in New Zealand. A terrible catastrophe like this must be taken seriously. Must also keep them in our thoughts and hope that they find safety soon.

I had my appointment with the back clinic today, and as I suspected from Wednesday's news, there is nothing major wrong there at all bar the odd niggle you get when you reach my age. From now, all my hospital appointments will be with the cardiology unit while they assess the level of my condition, and the best way to treat it. One thing they did mention is that it's main cause was genetic- my father died aged 50, and although he drank and smoked, that wasn't what killed him, and he had his first heart attack aged 45. The fact that I don't do either and have tried to be careful with what I eat thanks to the cholesterol warning of two years ago is what has ensured that I haven't had a heart attack yet, and my bad back is what has led to this discovery being made, so that I now stand a very good chance of living well past my fathers' age. If it wasn't for my bad back, I wouldn't be here to post three years from now. This week has been a real perspective enhancer for sure!

Once upon a time back in the day, there was a band around called 'Nashville Pussy'.  Now, as if that wasn't bad enough ...

The guitar player from that now-defunct band has a new project.  The band name is ...

wait for it ...

Dick Delicious and his Tasty Testicles.

I hope they aren't any good ... coz how would you explain to your friends about the great new band you found?????

(I first was going to say, 'I hope they suck...' ... but that would be like shooting fish in a barrel!)

Truth is stranger than fiction.  I can't even Google it here at work, it gets blocked every time!

A number of other piscatorial / ballistically challenged observations spring to mind also ...

I DO NOT have the willpower not to listen. That's why I'd rather not be tempted at all. Wouldn't mind seeing the cover though.

Read that Geoff and Trevor Horn are going to do a one song reunion on the new YES cd? I don't know who might have an insight on this on the ol guestboard?

Sakura ~ I am intrigued by this name today.

The cherry blossoms that line the huge pool/pond near the Washington Monument in Washington DC were a gift from Japan & are a lovely when in bloom in April. Japan's bloom a bit earlier.

To Sakura: is this your given name? or just a screen name?
and I liked your interpretation of Nothing's Forever. (interesting thoughts you have)

Azure,

Thanks for your comments! I'm so happy to know that you cherish the beatiful cherry blossoms in Washington D.A.!  We all learn in English classes about the gift of the cherry trees given to the U.S. years ago as a sigh of friendship. A nice story!

My screenname Sakura means "cherry blossom" as you mentioned. Sadly, this is my screenname only...

Hope you and other GBers will have the opportunity to see the UK show.

Unfortunately, when the UK is coming to Japan, cherry blossoms will be gone. Are there chances that the UK might appreciate the flowers in Washington D.C.?

Thanks for your comments, Az!

I was swept away into the magical world of Omega during the drive to school this morning. Heard Holy War, Listen Children, There Was a Time, End of the World, and I Believe. All of my faves.
