Am I right that Asia had begun to do shows a second time around before John's operation? Had they changed the set list from the first reunited tour? Has someone posted a set list for this second time around? I very much enjoyed the acoustic version of Don't Cry and am all for doing songs with a different arrangement. I can't help feeling that it would be great to hear the version of Don't Cry recorded on Alpha. Colin

Second time around where? We played a European tour in July, and my operation was in August. way back in the beginning,Carl did not want to play 'Don't Cry' at all,so I suggested,as a compromise, we perform it as part of the acoustic set--and it feels good there. Things may change in the future, but I like it where it is.

So did the tour never get to play the same place a year later before the operation?

I love the accoustic version of Don't Cry, it works beautifully as a ballad

I think Carl is put off on the song because he knows he could have done better in nailing his performance in the video. It's been twenty odd years, he needs to get over the fact that Horace and his formidable acting chops stole the day. Horace should have gotten an MTV Moon Man for that one, that's is if the Moon Man Awards were around in '83.

I don't think they started until a few years later (86-87 maybe)

You're right,JK--there's still much resentment in the band Green Room about that
video. It was 'feather dusters at dawn' on the day,and I hate to say it,but there's still
jealousy and bad feeling surrounding the whole soap opera today. I neatly side-stepped the whole Oscar competition myself, being given the cherished (and demanding) role of Indiana Jones having a glass of wine with the tart in the Kasbah.
I think she batted for the other side, and I must add that my encounter with her in my dressing-room after filming left a nasty taste in my mouth, and I still can't sing those words without blubbing.

It's ok,G---I think the reason I got the non-combative role in our soap was that the producers had been told of my 'inflammatory' and 'obstinato' nature at that time.
as with most activities at that time,my presence was barely tolerated. The others could not wait to see the back of me.
