Great show by Asia! How nice to see Ian and John together on stage live. It was really quite special.

While I enjoyed Yes immensely, more than I thought I would, Asia just gets better and better. I truly hope new music will be on the way down the road a way's, the band is just too good at this point not to explore that avenue again when the time is right for all the band members. Looking forward to tonight as well.

And John, carpel tunnel or not, still the best on the bass by a country mile! You make it look like child's play.

Wow, not only did I not recognize Ian McDonald during ITCOTKC, according to posts on YesFans none other than Annie Haslam was in attendance, and was at the (very crowded) tavern across the street where my son & I ate before the show. Talk about angels unaware...

Wow!  Annie Haslam....The one and only "Ocean Gyspy!!"  Guess the "Yes" fans have a sharp eye when out and about.  No offense to "Asia" fans, of course.......

Annie is usually there when we play Philadelphia--and she came to School of Rock, appeared on iCon ,and works also with Steve,so she knows us all.I hear that Renaissance is about to re-form,which will be great for her,but in the meantime her paintings continue to dazzle.

I have one of her New Hope specials in my office and it is a beauty! She is a lovely lady to chat with and very gracious to those who stop her on the street and tell her how much they liked, Mother Russia, like this idiot did once years ago.

Renaissance reforming?  The original lineup???  Oh that is too cool.

Annie's paintings have been featured the last few years at NEARFest in Bethlehem, PA.  They are indeed striking!

Annie has also been seen at ROSFest, even sang with Magenta 2 years ago.  Frequently attends other NYC/Philly shows and surrounds.  She came to our Icon chat a year or so ago too.  Always nice to see her!

Yup, Annie's work is marvelous, I have an original work of hers and a signed print in my home.  Admittedly, though (bad, bad Amie!), I've never heard her music beyond her ethereally gorgeous addition to "In the End."

Not [I]origina[/I l line-up,April--I believe that would be impossible (Jane Relf,Jim McCarty,Louis Cennamo?),but the cherished line-up, which includes her, obviously. The one that did 'Northern Lights',I s'pose. At one time they'd have anyone singing with them (including me---where I first met Annie)). Yes,Amie, she holds a tuns well on 'In The End',doesn't she?
I don't know what happened with my parentheses and italics here, but I'm in a hurry to leave for Longisland, later dudettes.

Did you manage to procure some side whiskers for the occasion, Mr W ....?

Ms Haslam has a very strong voice, but I don't think it's quite strong enough to hold a tun ...!

I'd love to see Renaissance play - "Northern Lights" (link for you, Ames) was a favourite of mine - even at the tender age I was when it first came out - was it around the same time as Prelude's version of "After The Gold Rush" and Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear The Reaper"?

Ah, Mags, I think I've seen that picture online or in a book and the whiskers procured HIM....arar.

Yes, Sir Wetton, her voice was a resplendent complement to that other magnificent singer whose name suddenly escapes me...LOVE that song.

Not sure if it has been commented on before, but it seems to be prerequisite for all female guests on Icon projects to be called Annie / Anne or some other derivitive of the name ...

Hoping the skies will clear round eight when you guys take the stage. Pouring again here and they expect some strong storms out on the Island. Let's hope the Howler need not play Al Roker and advise the crowd that charged ion particles in the summer air and Gibson's/Rickenbacker's do not mesh well. Safe travels to LI, where the traffic only becomes better with torrential downpours. As Costanza would say, "Avoid the Van Wyck."
