I saw the photo of the pirate. I knew a porthole pirate once. He was a jolly roger indeed and looked great in magenta.

On a holiday in Egypt once, spent a couple of days on a boat on the Nile. Myself and the other Brits had trouble pronouncing the name of one of the Egyptian crew, so someone had the bright idea of nicknaming him Roger. Every time he appeared he was greeted with cries of 'Roger the Cabin Boy', to much amusement.
Poor guy never did understand why he was so popular.
And yes I know, before anyone says it, I should get out more.

Me too Sandie!

So,let me get this right, on your holiday an Egyptian sailor aspired to Roger the cabin-boy. Is that right?

Good thing I'm so sweet and innocent, this is all going over my head ...
I may need to invest in a double entendre dictionary.

Ooh, the radio is just playing 'Video Killed the Radio Star'. All rise for Sir Geoffrey Buggle.

Speaking from experience, that would be money well spent.  Just think what an education you're getting here!  BTW...welcome!

Micheal again, huh?   Welllll, I did contribute 2 articles to the zine, a "Guitars of Asia"  feature and a Interview with 21 GUNS (Scott Gorham, Leif Johanson, Mike Sturgis & Tommy LeVerdi).  Mike could be very condesending at times, but to his credit he did make an effort to put out a ASIA fanzine.  Youngsters have to remember, before "Da INternet".  We got our info thru mags/zines/gossip!!!  Live and let live.

I still hear it every so often and see the video as well. Just a month ago I saw the video on some network where people vote on what gets played next (Fuse? something like that). What was funny is that they played HOTM immediately after.

The day after my May Asia weekend my sister and I were shopping in different areas of a small store. I soon realized they were playing VKTRS. My sister came over to find me and I just said "I know".

Video Killed The Radio Star gets played all the time on satellite radio.  I can't remember the last time I heard it on regular radio.

I was in Macy's the other day...Something caught my ear and I could have sworn I was hearing a musak version of An Extraordinary Life. Thankfully, I was so very, very, very wrong.

Close call, eh?
