Hey Johan,

I've been meaning to post this for awhile, but it seems like my 20 month old is giving me very little spare time these days...

As I mentioned on here before, when my son was still only a couple hours old, and it was the first time I found myself alone with him, I belted out(good thing no one else was listening) 'When You Were Young' and for the longest time I couldn't figure out why.

Then, just like with all intriguing questions, the answer came to me out of the blue when I wasn't even thinking about it. It's all in the last line of the song- I believe in you! Not meaning to dig too much in my own dirt, but one thing I lacked growing up was a sense of self confidence and if I had someone tell me then what I have already told my son(and make sure I do more as he grows) it would have made my life a bit better.

It's amazing how some people can write songs that leave an emotional footprint of sorts on you as their mark, but with you Johan it's rather a common event.

Great story, DM.  (Great picture, too, a real keeper you've got!  My granddaughter is the same age, terrific time of life, and I don't have to worry about lost sleep....)  I used "When You Were Young" as the accompanying music to a slide show I made for family at my son's high school graduation open house last June, and when I previewed it for my wife we both ended up sitting on the floor bawling like babies.  That line, "I believe in you," is so powerful -- and sadly, so rarely said to children today.  Johan really knows how to touch the heart and soul.
